This is where it all begins. All the fundamentals of math are taught and reviewed in this class. Fractions, decimals, ratios, proportions, percents, integers, mixed numbers, and a host of other fundamental concepts Remember, you cannot build the second story until you have finished the first one. So, take the time to learn it thoroughly. You will be glad you did.

Strong algebra skills are crucial for those students who intend to move up to higher-level math classes. Whether you will be taking geometry or statistics next, your knowledge of algebra will be crucial to your success. Whether you are taking Algebra I or II in high school or the elementary or intermediate series at Irvine Valley or Saddleback Colleges, we can help you. Our extensive bank of questions allows you to prepare for those challenging exams.

Your Algebra I and II skills will be fine-tuned in this class, the third in the Algebra series. Here, you will study some of the old lessons in more depth as well as prepare for Pre-Calculus. Here, you will also develop strong analytical and computational skills. This class is presented under Math 7 or 8 at Irvine Valley and Saddleback Colleges.

This class is a perfect storm of reading, comprehension, and math. Many high school students find this to be one of their hardest classes. The sheer size of the definitions and theorems that must be understood and memorized is daunting. It is like a toolbox that keeps growing. However, the various modes of reasoning that this class teaches our students is a priceless tool for their future classes.

This is one of the most voluminous courses taught in any high school. It covers Algebra I, Algebra II, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus. Many students find this class to be the most difficult one. It also serves as a platform that will catapult you into the all-important Calculus series. It is very important that you do not fall behind in this class because catching up is extremely difficult.
Take both of the First Semester and Second Semester Diagnostic Exams that are given below and test your knowledge. Email us your results for a more detailed assessment of your strengths and challenges.
If you are going the calculus route, this class is a must for you. One of the biggest obstacles in the way of calculus students is insufficient trigonometry background. The Unit Circle, Graphing sin(x), cos(x), tan(x), sec(x), csc(x), cot(x), and their related identities play a very big role in solving various calculus problems.

This is the first installment of a series of three classes that all advanced high school students and most science majors will have to take. The importance of this class as a foundation for future calculus classes cannot be overstated. This is Math 2A at Saddleback College and AP Calculus AB in high school. Either way, we can help you learn and master the challenging problems. Our extensive test bank of questions allows you to prepare for those challenging exams. Our students routinely take 10-15 actual AP tests in preparation for the big one!

Now that you have learned the fundamentals, it is time to dig deeper into their meanings and applications. This is Math 2B at Saddleback College and AP Calculus BC in high school. Your hard work and strong background in Calculus 1 really pay off here. The 3 golden rules of calculus apply here too: Practice, Practice, Practice. Utilize our extensive test bank of questions to extra prepare for those challenging exams.

This is Math 3C at Saddleback College and is not offered at the high school level. Here you can watch your Calculus 1 problems literally lift off the page and float into space. Those well-behaving 2-variable functions will now be replaced with multi-variable ones. Lines become planes, and circles become spheres! It is a fascinating extension of the elementary concepts that were learned in earlier calculus classes. Keep your Calculus 1 and 2 books around because you will need to refer to them constantly.
Technically speaking, this is not a math class. It is, however, one of the most applicable classes that is taught by most math departments. Students from so many different disciplines take this class in order to acquire the necessary statistical and computational skills. Many find some of the topics to be very theoretical and difficult to grasp. At times, solutions to the problems rely more on reading and comprehension of the various case studies than any calculations.
Graphing calculators such as the TI-83 and TI-84 are extremely useful in these classes. However, some teachers do not let students use them on the tests, so you should find out the class policy before purchasing one.

ISEE is the Independent School Entrance Examination, and it's used for admission to private middle schools and high schools. If you're looking to attend an elite private middle or high school, this is a test you'll need to do well on. Three different levels of the test are offered, depending on where you are in your education. The Upper Level is designed for applicants in grades 9 and above. The Middle Level is for applicants in grades 6 and 7, and the Lower Level is for applicants in grades 5 and 6.
We prepare our students for these tests on the basis of the determinations made by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (www.nctm.org). NCTM has identified 5 main areas for all high school students to master. We have identified several subgroups within each of the 5 areas and have developed specific exercises for students to perform.
